DeNA has announced that Pokémon Masters EX will cease service in Turkey on December 23, 2026, adding another territory to the mobile RPG's gradually shrinking regional footprint. The Turkey closure follows previous service withdrawals from Vietnam and, earlier this year, Russia and Indonesia. Pokémon Masters EX originally launched internationally in 2019 and remains operational across numerous other markets, so this is a regional shutdown rather than the end of the game globally.
Nevertheless, territory-by-territory exits are worth watching because live-service mobile games depend on an awkward combination of regulatory compliance, payment infrastructure, operating costs and sufficiently large local audiences. A game can remain successful worldwide while individual markets become commercially or administratively unattractive. Existing Turkish players therefore have just under three months before local service ends.
It is one of the less charming realities of live-service gaming: unlike a cartridge sitting on a shelf, an online game can effectively disappear because somebody changes a server configuration. Pokémon may encourage players to catch them all, but maintaining access to them all indefinitely remains a considerably more complicated proposition.
