The iQOO 16 is emerging as one of 2026's most aggressively gaming-focused flagship phones, pairing Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 platform with what iQOO calls the world's first 2K 165Hz Samsung Everest smartphone display. Developed with Samsung Display, the panel reaches a claimed 2,800 nits of global peak brightness while iQOO says it consumes 31 percent less power than a comparable 1.5K screen.

More importantly for gaming, 165Hz operation is supported across more than 100 apps and over 50 games rather than existing purely as an impressive number on the specification sheet. The phone combines that with LPDDR5X Ultra Pro memory, UFS 4.1 storage, an enormous 8.5K Ice Dome vapour-chamber cooling system and an 8,400mAh battery supporting 100W wired and 40W wireless charging. Malaysia is expected to receive the handset in November.

None of this guarantees sustained 165fps gameplay - software support and thermal behaviour still decide that - but iQOO is clearly treating gaming as a system rather than simply bolting a fast screen onto a flagship processor. Also, 8,400mAh is approaching the point where the battery may qualify as hand luggage.
