Key takeaways

  • Releases October 12 at 9am BST / 10am CEST on both iOS and Android for $9.99.

  • Includes identical content to PC and console editions; Death Parade expansion previewed.

Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors is scheduled to launch on iOS and Android tomorrow, October 12, bringing poncle's unusual deckbuilding spin-off to smartphones. The announced release time is 9am British Summer Time, equivalent to 10am in the Netherlands.

Unlike the original Vampire Survivors, which became famous for overwhelming players with increasingly ridiculous quantities of enemies and projectiles, Vampire Crawlers combines first-person dungeon exploration with turn-based card combat. Players construct decks, collect abilities and develop combinations designed to eliminate enemies as efficiently as possible. Its TurboTurn system rewards carefully chained cards, allowing players to create powerful sequences while managing available resources.

The mobile edition is intended to preserve the gameplay of the existing PC and console versions rather than becoming a simplified companion application. The reported mobile price is $9.99, although regional storefront pricing and availability should be checked at launch. Poncle has also previewed a substantial future update called Death Parade, featuring additional cards, characters, Arcanas and a new challenge environment.

However, the update's release timing should be distinguished from the confirmed mobile launch date. Vampire Crawlers looks particularly well suited to touchscreen devices because card selection and turn-based decisions can work naturally without complex virtual controls. Its arrival also demonstrates that successful mobile franchises can expand into entirely different genres while retaining their established personalities. Apparently surviving endless hordes of monsters was not complicated enough.

Now players must also worry about organising their cards.
