WindRunner Go! Targets October 22 Launch With Idle RPG Battles and Thousands of Free Summons

LIGHTCON is bringing the WindRunner franchise back to smartphones with WindRunner Go!, a new idle RPG scheduled for release on October 22. The title transforms the established running-game formula into a character-development adventure featuring automated combat, equipment upgrades and large groups of enemies. The original WindRunner series reportedly accumulated more than 60 million downloads worldwide, providing the new game with a substantial existing audience.

Instead of requiring players to constantly dodge obstacles, WindRunner Go! concentrates on building stronger characters and gradually improving their combat abilities. A special Fever system allows characters to eliminate large groups of monsters, while offline progression ensures that development continues even when the application is closed. The developer suggests that players can make meaningful progress through relatively short daily sessions. Pre-registration rewards are particularly generous on paper.

Eligible participants can receive recruitment tickets equivalent to 3,000 summons, 10,000 rubies, the legendary character Stella and a special companion called Ice Cream Cacco. Additional launch celebrations include a seven-day login programme offering further characters, companions and resources. However, enormous recruitment-ticket numbers should not automatically be interpreted as enormous monetary value.

The usefulness of these rewards depends on recruitment probabilities, character rarity and the game's progression economy. WindRunner Go! is planned as a free-to-play release for compatible iOS and Android devices. Regional storefront availability may vary. Apparently the fastest way to become a legendary runner is now to let somebody else do the running while your characters level up automatically.
