FDG Entertainment is bringing its cheerful bouncing hero back with Red Ball Forever, scheduled for release on October 22. The new mobile platformer expands the familiar Red Ball formula with colourful 2.5D environments, a connected world map and forty-five handcrafted levels. Players once again control a determined red ball whose primary talents involve rolling, jumping and defeating enemies through carefully timed movement. This time, the adventure introduces a mysterious antagonist known as The Hexagon.

Players must navigate increasingly complicated environments, overcome mechanical hazards and confront challenging bosses while attempting to stop the new threat. Unlike earlier games that relied heavily on separate stages, Red Ball Forever introduces a top-down world map connecting different environments. Players can explore locations ranging from sunny fields to snowy mountain regions, collecting coins and other rewards along the way.

Performance medals provide additional incentives to replay completed stages, while a collection system allows players to unlock alternative appearances and cosmetic items. The developer emphasises that these cosmetic rewards do not depend on randomised loot boxes. The iOS edition is listed as a free download with optional purchases and supports external controllers. Android availability should be checked by territory because storefront schedules may differ.

The franchise's promotional material refers to an audience of approximately 500 million players across earlier releases. Whether those players return remains to be seen, but the formula certainly remains accessible. Apparently the gaming industry's most resilient hero is not a heavily armoured warrior. It is a small red ball with an exceptionally positive attitude.
