Japanese developer enish is transforming its existing Laid-Back Camp mobile game into a relaxation and productivity application on October 22. The substantial update changes Laid-Back Camp: All-in-One into a new experience known as Chill Time, combining familiar characters and camping environments with tools intended to help players concentrate on everyday activities.
Instead of concentrating primarily on conventional game progression, the redesigned application allows users to watch characters enjoying peaceful camping activities while working, studying or relaxing. Players can arrange tents, cooking equipment and decorative objects to create personalised campsites. The application also introduces productivity tools including a Pomodoro timer, task lists and a calendar that records completed work sessions. Environmental sounds provide another important feature.
Users can combine audio representing campfires, rainfall, rivers, insects, wind and the sea to create their preferred atmosphere. Existing players will not need to download an entirely separate application because the new experience replaces the current mobile version through an update. Previously collected equipment, costumes and food items are intended to remain available. The iOS and Android editions continue using a free-to-play model with optional purchases.
A separate premium PC edition is also scheduled to enter Steam Early Access on October 22. The transformation is unusual because it shifts an established mobile game toward a broader lifestyle application. Apparently the ultimate achievement in a camping game is no longer collecting rare equipment. It is finally completing your work while somebody else enjoys the scenery.
