AYN has now revealed the complete pricing and launch details for the Odin 3 Portal, transforming what had previously been an interesting Android-handheld teaser into a considerably more serious purchasing decision. The larger sibling of the Odin 3 features a seven-inch 1920-by-1080 OLED touchscreen operating at 120Hz and Qualcomm's Dragonwing Q8 processor, essentially an Android gaming chipset built around Snapdragon 8 Elite-class CPU and GPU technology without the cellular modem.
Battery capacity reaches a substantial 9000mAh with 60W wired charging. The handheld also offers Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, USB-C DisplayPort output, microSD expansion, active cooling, full-size Hall-effect analogue sticks, rear paddle buttons and Android 15. Three configurations are planned. The 12GB RAM and 128GB Base edition receives an introductory $399 price, the 12GB/256GB Pro costs $479 during the launch promotion, and the 16GB/512GB Max costs $549.
Regular pricing increases to $419, $499 and $579 respectively. Ordering begins late October 22 in North America, which means the early hours of October 23 for European buyers, with shipping expected in early November. The Odin 3 Portal is clearly aimed at Android games, emulation and game streaming rather than replacing a Windows handheld PC. Still, a 9000mAh battery and seven-inch OLED screen make it look suspiciously capable of turning a short gaming session into an entire afternoon.
