AYN has expanded the Odin 3 Portal lineup with an additional 1TB configuration, giving enthusiasts another option as pre-orders begin for the company's latest premium Android gaming handheld. The newly confirmed model combines 16GB of RAM with 1TB of storage and carries an introductory price of $669, compared with its expected regular price of $699. Three previously announced configurations remain available.
The Base model includes 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for $399 during the introductory promotion, while the Pro increases storage to 256GB for $479. A 16GB RAM and 512GB Max configuration costs $549. All versions share the same general hardware platform, including Qualcomm's Dragonwing Q8 processor, a seven-inch OLED display and a substantial 9000mAh battery. The handheld also features redesigned grips, larger Hall-effect analogue sticks and a chassis intended to improve comfort during extended sessions.
Pre-orders opened on October 23 in Europe following the manufacturer's North American launch schedule, with initial shipments expected during November. The addition of a 1TB model is particularly interesting for players who maintain extensive collections of Android games, legally obtained retro titles and other compatible software. Modern mobile games can occupy substantial storage space, especially when high-resolution assets and additional downloadable content are involved.
However, buyers should remember that the Odin 3 Portal is an Android device rather than a conventional Windows gaming PC. Compatibility with desktop games depends on additional software and should not be assumed. The hardware nevertheless looks increasingly competitive within the premium handheld market. Apparently AYN has concluded that the only thing better than carrying an entire games collection in your pocket is having enough storage to carry another one.
