Key takeaways

  • Fate/Grand Order kicks off the Kan'i Myodaiden raid event linked to the Grand Duel progression system.
  • Expands the maximum available Grand Extra-class slots from two to four for experienced endgame players.
  • Requires players to conquer the Extra-class unlocking battle before entering the new raid encounters.

Fate/Grand Order has introduced another substantial challenge for its dedicated player community, with a new event expanding the game's Grand Battle progression systems. The event, known in Japanese as Kan'i Myodaiden, began following maintenance on October 23 and introduces raid-style encounters connected to the existing Grand Duel system. One of its most important rewards involves expanding the number of available Grand Extra-class slots from two to four.

That change provides additional flexibility for experienced players who have invested heavily in developing powerful servants and experimenting with different team compositions. Participation is not completely unrestricted, however. Players must first complete the relevant Grand Duel Extra-class unlocking battle before accessing the new content. The event arrives alongside additional maintenance and adjustments intended to support the latest activities.

Fate/Grand Order remains one of the mobile market's longest-running character-collection RPGs, having maintained a substantial audience through its combination of visual-novel storytelling, strategic combat and frequent limited-time events. For established players, changes to advanced progression systems can be particularly important because they create new opportunities to use characters that might otherwise remain outside their preferred teams.

Newer players may find the requirements considerably more demanding, especially if they have not yet completed the necessary story and progression content. The latest event therefore reinforces the distinction between the game's accessible narrative presentation and its increasingly elaborate endgame systems. Whether the additional Grand slots significantly alter preferred team compositions will depend on the encounters and characters involved.

Apparently the only thing more complicated than summoning legendary heroes is deciding which legendary heroes deserve the most prestigious job titles.
