Japanese publisher SNS Entertainment has officially launched Haodo: Heroes Re:CODE, a new free-to-play historical fantasy RPG for iOS and Android. The game arrived on November 2, with its launch announcement appearing after the previous editorial cutoff. Its central attraction is a collection of historical personalities who would ordinarily require a time machine and several extremely complicated diplomatic negotiations to meet.

Oda Nobunaga, Sanada Yukimura, Guan Yu, Joan of Arc and Napoleon are among the characters available for recruitment and development. Players assemble teams of heroes, improve their abilities and participate in cooperative activities designed around alliances. The most ambitious feature is a real-time alliance battle system supporting confrontations involving up to ten players on each side.

These encounters encourage participants to coordinate strategies rather than relying exclusively on individual character strength. An integrated chat system allows alliance members to exchange information and organise activities. The launch is accompanied by several promotional campaigns offering a combined maximum of 7,000 Haodo Stones. Players can receive 600 stones and an SR hero recruitment ticket through login rewards, while special missions provide another 6,400 stones.

A commemorative recruitment campaign offers increased SSR appearance rates and a discounted initial recruitment opportunity. The launch promotions continue until November 23 at 14:00 Japanese time. Haodo enters an extremely competitive market filled with established character-collection RPGs. Its ability to retain players will depend on the quality of its alliance systems, progression balance and ongoing content.

Nevertheless, there is something wonderfully entertaining about imagining Napoleon and Joan of Arc discussing battle tactics with Japanese samurai.
