Steam Controller shipping mix-up turns into a surprisingly generous Valve moment
Valve is reportedly offering affected Steam Controller buyers a free standard-edition Steam game after some European shipments were misrouted.
Valve’s new Steam Controller has had a messy hardware rollout, but the company appears to be turning one shipping mistake into a goodwill win. Notebookcheck reports that some European orders were mistakenly routed to the UK by GLS, delaying deliveries to customers in countries such as Hungary and Romania. According to affected users, Valve apologized and offered a free standard-edition Steam game while they wait for the controller to be redirected.
Many buyers are reportedly choosing Forza Horizon 6, which happens to fully launch today. For mobile and handheld players, the Steam Controller matters because it sits inside Valve’s wider couch, PC and remote-play ecosystem. Pair it with Steam Link and a phone, tablet or compact screen, and it becomes another way to turn a mobile display into a PC gaming endpoint.
