Lenovo Legion Y70 makes gaming-phone value uncomfortable for rivals
Lenovo’s new Legion Y70 has been announced with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 6.82-inch 2K 144Hz AMOLED, 8,000mAh battery and aggressive pricing in China.
Lenovo’s Legion Y70 is now official, and the price-to-spec equation looks dangerous for rival gaming phones. The new model uses a 6.82-inch 2K AMOLED LTPO display with up to 144Hz refresh, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, LPDDR5X Ultra RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, Android 16 and an 8,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging. It also includes bypass charging, a triple heat-dissipation setup using thermal gel, liquid metal and vapor chamber cooling, plus IP66, IP68 and IP69 protection.
The most surprising part is pricing: the 12GB/256GB model starts at 2,599 yuan, around $382. Retail sales in China begin on 9 June. If Lenovo keeps performance stable under load, this could make the dedicated gaming-phone category look less like a premium luxury and more like a practical performance alternative.
