Huawei MatePad Pro 2026 pairs slim design with 144Hz OLED display

Huawei has officially introduced the 2026 MatePad Pro, a premium tablet built around a 12-inch OLED display with a 3036 by 1952 resolution and refresh rate of up to 144Hz. Peak brightness is rated at 1,600 nits, making the screen suitable for outdoor use as well as gaming, video and creative work. Despite the large panel, the tablet measures only 4.7mm thick and weighs 439 grams, giving it an unusually slim and light profile.

Buyers can choose between a standard screen and Huawei's PaperMatte option, which is designed to reduce reflections and create a more paper-like writing surface. The combination of high refresh rate, strong brightness and low weight makes the device relevant to mobile gamers, although final performance will depend on the processor configuration, thermal design and game compatibility in each market.

Huawei continues to position its tablets as productivity devices that can also replace some laptop tasks when paired with a keyboard and stylus. The MatePad Pro 2026 enters a competitive premium segment dominated by Apple's iPad Pro and high-end Android tablets, but its display specifications and portability give it a clear hardware story.
