FarmVille 3 prepares kitten-rescue event supporting real animal welfare

FarmVille 3 will launch A Home for Every Kitten on 11 August, combining a four-phase in-game event with support for real-world animal rescue. Running until 7 September, the event asks players to develop a Rescue Base and complete activities connected to caring for and finding homes for kittens. The familiar FarmVille loop of building, collecting and upgrading is being used to frame a cause-based campaign rather than a purely seasonal challenge.

Associated purchases will contribute to animal-welfare efforts, giving participating players a way to support rescue work while progressing through the event. Cause-related collaborations can be effective when the charitable link is clear and the gameplay does more than place a logo over an existing promotion. In this case, the rescue theme fits naturally with FarmVille 3's emphasis on animals and caretaking.
