The first Pokémon Champions Global Challenge of the 2027 Championship Series has been announced, with registration opening September 18 and matches running from September 25 through September 28. The tournament will use the newly introduced Regulation Set M-C, meaning competitors will need to prepare for the expanded roster and six additional Mega Evolutions that became legal this week.

Players who complete at least three battles receive a participation reward, while Championship Points will be awarded according to final placement and rating zone. The event is important for mobile users because Pokémon Champions gives smartphone players a direct route into a structured competitive ecosystem that extends beyond casual ranked matchmaking. Additional Global Challenges are planned for October and December 2026 and January, March and April 2027.

The tournament announcement arrives immediately after Version 1.2.0, giving competitive players only a short window to understand the new metagame before registration begins.
