- Evolution grants Bane to all allied followers, significantly altering the post-rotation standard Royal meta.
Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond is preparing to introduce another collection of strategic possibilities, with Cygames confirming that its next card expansion, Deicide in Nacreheim, will arrive on October 28. New information published on October 25 provides a closer look at a Royal-class follower that could become particularly important in the upcoming competitive environment.
The card, provisionally translated as Tranquil Connoisseur, is a six-cost Gold Rare follower featuring an unusual combination of offensive potential and tactical flexibility. Its starting statistics are five attack and one defence, but those values can change while the card remains in the player's hand. Whenever the player activates an Evidence amulet, the follower exchanges its attack and defence values while receiving an additional attack increase.
This creates opportunities to manipulate its statistics before deployment. When played, the card summons two Innocent Newspaper Sellers whose statistics copy its current values. Evolving the follower grants Bane to other allied followers, potentially creating powerful removal opportunities. The Evidence mechanic is one of the expansion's central innovations and introduces additional interactions involving amulets, card drawing and battlefield management.
The upcoming expansion also affects the existing competitive environment because cards from an older set will rotate out of the standard format. Players who rely on established Royal decks may therefore need to reconsider their strategies. Whether Tranquil Connoisseur becomes a competitive staple remains uncertain until the complete expansion is available and players begin experimenting.
Nevertheless, the design demonstrates that Shadowverse continues exploring mechanics beyond simply introducing increasingly powerful creatures. Apparently the secret to winning a fantasy card battle is now collecting evidence, manipulating statistics and bringing two newspaper sellers into a fight.
