Cyprus Report Reveals Extraordinary Concentration of Mobile Game Companies

Cyprus has emerged as one of the world's most concentrated mobile-game business hubs. A new industry report says the country generated more than €3.2 billion in overall game revenue during 2025 and recorded 615 million mobile-game downloads. More than 82% of Cyprus-based game companies develop for mobile, while approximately 57.5% focus exclusively on the platform.

The country is home to hundreds of game companies despite its relatively small population, producing unusually high revenue and download figures on a per-capita basis. Cyprus has attracted internationally focused publishers and developers through a combination of business infrastructure, location and access to talent from multiple regions.

The numbers illustrate how mobile gaming's geography differs from traditional console development: a studio can operate from a comparatively small market while generating almost all of its revenue internationally through digital storefronts. For investors and publishers evaluating European bases, Cyprus is increasingly becoming impossible to dismiss as a serious games-industry centre.
