Nexon has confirmed that Mabinogi Mobile will begin service in Japan on October 7, with pre-registration now open and a playable build attracting visitors at Tokyo Game Show 2026. The mobile RPG returns to Erin, the setting of the long-running PC Mabinogi, but rebuilds the experience for modern mobile devices rather than simply streaming or directly porting the original client. Nexon's TGS presentation makes that continuity unusually tangible.
Its booth recreates the familiar Tir Chonaill campfire atmosphere, with visitors sitting around a virtual bonfire and playing on iPads. The demonstration lets players sample combat, character customisation, dyeing and Mabinogi's distinctive rebirth system, with classes including Dual Blade, Mage and Dancer available for the dungeon portion. The Japanese launch is accompanied by promotional campaigns and pre-registration rewards ahead of October.
For a property with more than two decades of history, the challenge is balancing nostalgia with a mobile audience accustomed to faster interfaces and shorter sessions. Nexon's TGS build suggests it is deliberately preserving Mabinogi's slower social identity rather than turning the property into a generic mobile action RPG.
