Fareidolia Gets Its First Major Public Hands-On Showing at Tokyo Game Show

Nexon's former Project RX is stepping into the spotlight under its final name, Fareidolia, with a playable Tokyo Game Show 2026 demonstration. Developed by Nexon Games' IO Division with veterans associated with Blue Archive, the Unreal Engine 5 project combines a nostalgic small-town setting with a cast of girls possessing unusual powers.

Nexon has recreated part of the game's Tasogare Hall setting at its TGS booth and is using the show to provide one of the first opportunities for the public to play the title rather than simply watch trailers. Fareidolia is planned as a multiplatform release spanning mobile, PC and consoles, although a final launch date has not yet been announced.

That wider platform strategy makes it particularly notable for mobile players: visual quality and world design are being developed with larger systems in mind instead of the game being conceived solely around the technical floor of older phones. The involvement of experienced character-game developers will naturally create comparisons with Blue Archive, but the more ambitious rendering technology and broader platform scope indicate Nexon wants Fareidolia to establish an identity of its own.
