Diablo Immortal's Made to Suffer Update Expands Lut Gholein

Blizzard has rolled out Diablo Immortal's Made to Suffer update globally, opening another part of Lut Gholein and continuing the mobile action RPG's Nation of Agony storyline. The update introduces the High Ward area as the conflict involving Andariel and Duriel develops, giving established players new narrative material rather than limiting the patch to another temporary event cycle. Two new Legendary Gems expand build possibilities, while Battlegrounds return to a Nephalem-themed presentation.

The City of Pain event is also running through September 30, giving players a limited window for additional rewards and objectives. Diablo Immortal is now far removed from the controversy surrounding its original announcement and has settled into the more interesting question of how long a large-scale mobile action RPG can continue adding meaningful locations and character progression without making its systems impenetrable to returning players. Made to Suffer is another sizeable answer to that challenge.

For existing players, the new story and gems are the obvious attractions; for lapsed players, a substantial location expansion offers a more persuasive reason to reinstall than a routine balance patch.
