ColorOS 17 Rollout Plan Covers More Than 100 Phones, Tablets and Watches

OPPO has published a substantial rollout schedule for ColorOS 17, its Android 17-based software generation, covering devices across OPPO, OnePlus and realme. The China schedule encompasses 112 devices: 90 phones, 17 tablets and five watches, with the first stable upgrades scheduled to begin October 8 and later waves continuing into early 2027. OPPO claims significant improvements to interface smoothness, cold application launches and the ability to keep applications alive in the background.

The company is also placing considerable emphasis on longevity, citing TÜV Rheinland testing around sustained smoothness over extended use. Its Xiaobu assistant gains longer conversations, adjustable responses and integrations with numerous third-party Chinese services. The global timetable has not yet been published, so owners outside China should not assume the same dates. Even so, the unified schedule is significant because it brings several brands onto a common software roadmap.

Android fragmentation is no longer only about whether a phone receives a new OS version; timing, consistency and long-term performance now matter almost as much. ColorOS 17 is OPPO's attempt to make that update story part of the product proposition.
