Redmi Note 17 Family Arrives in Indonesia With Huge Batteries

Xiaomi has expanded the Redmi Note 17 family into Indonesia, bringing standard 4G and 5G models alongside higher-end Pro variants. The regular devices use large 6.99-inch AMOLED displays with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rates, while Xiaomi differentiates them through their chipsets: the 4G version uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 and the 5G model moves to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4.

Both feature 7,700mAh silicon-carbon batteries with 45W charging, making endurance one of the range's central selling points. Higher models push the battery story even further, with the Pro Max reaching 10,000mAh. Xiaomi is also promoting higher brightness, fast touch sampling and strengthened durability across the wider Note 17 line. These specifications reflect a notable shift in mid-range phones.

Silicon-carbon technology is allowing manufacturers to fit capacities that would have seemed tablet-like only a few generations ago without producing absurdly thick devices. For gaming, that can matter more than another incremental benchmark gain: a phone capable of sustaining long sessions without constant charging is often more useful than one that merely posts a higher peak frame rate.
