OVER RUSH Open Beta Tests NHN PlayArt's High-Speed Card RPG

NHN PlayArt's OVER RUSH is currently running an open beta on iOS and Android in Japan, giving players an extended look at a mobile RPG that tries to make card combat considerably faster than the genre's usual turn-based pace. Set in the futuristic Sync City, the game pairs players with AI companions called Buddies and revolves around rapidly selecting and chaining coloured cards during battles.

Roguelike deck-building mechanics alter the tactical options available as a run progresses, while attacks are presented with the visual energy of a conventional action RPG. The beta runs through September 24 and forms part of NHN PlayArt's substantial Tokyo Game Show 2026 mobile presence. That makes this test more than a routine pre-release server exercise: it is the first meaningful opportunity to see whether the game's unusual combination of real-time pressure and card strategy works over longer sessions.

A global release has not yet been confirmed. If the underlying system proves sufficiently readable on a phone screen, OVER RUSH could offer a useful alternative to slower automated character RPGs.
