Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed Brings a Full Console-Style Platformer to Phones

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is now available on iOS and Android, adding another substantial premium game to September's unusually strong mobile release calendar. The remake sends Mickey into Wasteland, a world inhabited by forgotten characters, and builds exploration around magical paint and thinner. Paint restores objects and parts of the environment, while thinner removes them, allowing puzzles and traversal to react to the player's choices.

THQ Nordic Mobile has brought the complete adventure to smartphones rather than producing a separate simplified edition. The US mobile price is $15.99, placing it well above typical impulse-purchase app pricing but far below many console releases. That pricing strategy is increasingly relevant as high-end phones become capable of running visually ambitious 3D games.

The remaining challenge is control: precise platforming and camera movement are inherently more difficult on a touchscreen, making controller support especially valuable. Even so, Epic Mickey's arrival reinforces the sense that premium mobile libraries are beginning to look less like a separate market and more like another branch of mainstream gaming.
