POCO F9 Pro gaming tests show strong sustained performance in demanding titles

The globally available POCO F9 Pro has been put through fresh gaming tests, providing a more useful picture of its real-world performance than another page of synthetic benchmark scores. Gizmochina's September 22 review tested the handset with demanding titles including Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail.

In a 15-minute Genshin Impact run at maximum settings, the phone reportedly stayed close to 60 frames per second with only minor dips, while heat spread across the chassis instead of concentrating into an especially uncomfortable hotspot. Honkai: Star Rail also ran smoothly using the phone's performance-focused Wild Boost mode, although the predictable trade-offs appeared: greater power consumption and additional heat.

The F9 Pro and higher-end F9 Ultra have recently made their global debut, sharing much of their core technology with Xiaomi's Redmi K100 family while adapting specifications for international markets. One difference is battery capacity, which varies from the Chinese equivalents. For mobile gamers, sustained behaviour matters far more than a five-second peak benchmark, because an extremely fast chip that throttles aggressively after ten minutes is merely an expensive way to produce a good screenshot.

The early F9 Pro tests suggest POCO has delivered credible flagship-level gaming performance, although battery endurance and long-session thermal behaviour will remain the more meaningful measures over extended use.
