The company is pitching the design around a combination of performance, appearance and ergonomics, using a flat display with carefully rounded corners rather than pursuing curvature simply for visual drama.

Official imagery, colours and memory configurations have already started appearing as OnePlus builds toward the phone's expected October launch in China. For mobile gaming, smaller bezels are not merely a showroom trick. A high screen-to-body ratio can provide a larger-feeling play area without making the overall handset dramatically wider, while symmetrical edges are particularly noticeable when a game is held horizontally for extended periods.

What OnePlus has not yet done is reveal every piece of the performance puzzle.
