Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Boom blasts its way onto iOS and Android

Nitro Games has launched Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Boom on the App Store and Google Play, bringing Auroch Digital's wonderfully unsubtle retro shooter formula to mobile. This is Warhammer 40,000, so nobody is solving disagreements through a carefully moderated round-table discussion. Expect chunky weapons, pixel-heavy violence, Space Marines and enough hostile creatures to make a health-and-safety inspector quietly leave the building.

The mobile adaptation features a single-player campaign and touchscreen controls redesigned for phones rather than simply shrinking the PC interface until everyone's thumbs become sad. Interestingly, the App Store version is free to download but uses paid content unlocks rather than advertising or an energy timer. The full game is listed at $9.99, with a Crusade Edition at $12.99 and additional chapter content also available separately. The installation weighs in at roughly 3.
