Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max take the stage with dual 200MP cameras and batteries up to 8,500mAh

Xiaomi's September 23 flagship event is introducing the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max in China, with the company concentrating a frankly unnecessary quantity of large numbers into two phones. Official teasers confirm 200-megapixel Leica-branded main and periscope cameras on both models, with the telephoto offering 3.2x optical reach and macro focusing. Battery capacity reaches 7,000mAh in the smaller Pro and a gigantic 8,500mAh in the Pro Max, using high-silicon battery technology to increase energy density.

Both phones retain Xiaomi's rear secondary display, while the front panel uses extremely narrow 0.99mm bezels and includes a hardware-level privacy-display feature designed to reduce visibility from side angles. The Pro Max uses Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, while the smaller Pro is associated with the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. HyperOS 4 handles software duties.

At the time of this news sweep, Xiaomi's Beijing keynote had only just begun and final China pricing and international availability had not yet been fully detailed, so those numbers are deliberately absent here rather than harvested from the rumour orchard. With enormous batteries and Qualcomm's latest silicon, though, both devices are immediately relevant to high-end mobile gaming even if Xiaomi prefers talking about Leica cameras.
