Key takeaways

  • Extended third-anniversary Special Investigation closes today, October 25 at 14:59 UTC (15:59 CET).
  • Halloween preparations introduce seasonal equipment, exchange tokens, and a 10x Partbreaker boost on Jack-o'-Head.
  • Riftborne Black Diablos equipment gains new style customisation skills following the latest October update.

Monster Hunter Now players have a limited window remaining to complete the game's extended third-anniversary Special Investigation. The developers previously announced that the activity would remain available until October 25 at 14:59 UTC, equivalent to 15:59 CET. That makes today's deadline particularly important for hunters who have not yet completed the relevant objectives.

The extension was granted following player demand, providing additional time to participate in anniversary activities and collect associated rewards. Meanwhile, the game's broader autumn programme continues introducing new opportunities for character development and monster hunting. Riftborne Black Diablos began appearing following the October 19 update, accompanied by additional opportunities to improve equipment through style customisation.

Weapons created from Black Diablos materials can now benefit from the system, with an additional equipment skill becoming available after reaching the required customisation level. The developers have also been preparing their Halloween celebrations, which introduce seasonal equipment, special exchange tokens and additional monster encounters.

One of the more unusual features involves the Jack-o'-Head equipment, whose Halloween-specific Partbreaker skill will become ten times more effective during the relevant event. Seasonal activities also include opportunities to collect materials for cosmetic equipment and upgrade Halloween-themed weapons. These developments illustrate how Monster Hunter Now continues adapting the established hunting franchise into a live-service mobile experience.

Regular events provide incentives to revisit familiar monsters while encouraging players to experiment with different equipment combinations. However, anniversary investigation rewards and future Halloween bonuses should not be confused because they operate under separate schedules. Hunters interested in completing the anniversary content should therefore prioritise the approaching deadline.

Apparently the only monster more terrifying than Black Diablos is a countdown timer showing that your rewards are about to disappear.
