HoYoverse has released Genshin Impact Version 7.2, titled Hour of Ruin, bringing another substantial update to the open-world RPG across iOS, Android, PC and console platforms. The November 4 release introduces two additional areas of Snezhnaya: Novokitezhgrad and Wingspan Peak. Players can explore the new environments, discover additional quests and unlock meeting points associated with the region's developing storyline. The update also introduces two Electro characters.

Five-star Catalyst user Mitya is designed around Stellar-Conduct reactions and provides offensive capabilities focused on Electro damage, while four-star Sword user Valeriy offers support abilities including shields and Electro-related improvements. Additional equipment, challenges and progression activities accompany the update. Eligible players receive maintenance compensation in Primogems, with separate compensation for selected bug fixes.

HoYoverse has also introduced adjustments to exploration, combat and character progression systems. The publisher confirms that a new Spiral Abyss rotation will begin on November 16, while Imaginarium Theater receives another season on December 1. Genshin Impact remains one of the most prominent open-world games available on smartphones, making each substantial version update important for the broader mobile RPG market.

Its new areas and characters provide additional reasons for existing players to return, although the update's growing complexity may prove intimidating for newcomers. Apparently saving Teyvat has become a full-time occupation, particularly when the world keeps expanding faster than anybody can finish their existing quests.
