Supercell has introduced Brawl Vice, the latest season of Brawl Stars, combining crime-themed character designs with substantial adjustments to competitive progression. Officially launching on November 5 following an earlier maintenance update, Season 56 appears to draw inspiration from the colourful urban atmosphere associated with Grand Theft Auto VI. New cosmetics include Brawl Vice Bull, Crime Pays Poco, Undercover Buzz, Undercover Pierce and Black Market Barley.
Additional themed appearances include City Streets Bull and alternative outfits for Emz. Beyond the visual changes, the update introduces new Brawlers including Thunder Frogs, Rey and Ruby. Thunder Frogs is described as a Legendary artillery character, while Rey and Ruby introduce complementary abilities intended to encourage coordinated strategies. Competitive players also face important changes to Ranked mode.
The unlocking requirement increases from 1,000 to 5,000 Trophies, and participants must now use Power 11 Brawlers at every rank. The Diamond rank requirement increases from nine to twelve qualifying Brawlers. Supercell has also introduced additional Hypercharges and Buffies, while adjusting the future structure of its Pro Pass seasons. These changes could create a more demanding competitive environment, although the increased progression requirements may be less welcoming for newer players.
Brawl Stars remains one of the most recognisable competitive mobile titles, supported by frequent updates and distinctive characters. Apparently running a successful cartoon battle arena now requires street crime aesthetics, considerably stricter entry requirements and enough cosmetic outfits to make a fictional fashion designer nervous.
