Anbernic updates RG477V firmware while RG34XX SP gets a metallic refresh
Anbernic’s retro-handheld lineup gets fresh movement with RG477V firmware additions and a Metallic Blue version of the RG34XX SP.
Anbernic has two pieces of retro-handheld news worth watching. First, the company’s latest news feed lists a 9 May RG477V firmware update that adds RG Home, Control Center, key mapping support and custom palette options. Those are the kind of quality-of-life features that matter in retro handhelds, where frontend speed, button mapping and display tuning can make a device feel far more polished.
Second, Anbernic has refreshed the RG34XX SP line with a new Metallic Blue finish, keeping the clamshell-style retro device visible in a very crowded handheld market. The RG34XX SP remains a compact 3.4-inch retro gaming machine with a 480p display, Allwinner H700 chipset and 3,300mAh battery.
