Diablo Immortal pulls StarCraft into Sanctuary with Aeon of Stars

Diablo Immortal is about to get wonderfully weird. Blizzard has revealed Aeon of Stars, a Diablo Immortal x StarCraft crossover that runs from 13 May to 10 June. The event brings StarCraft’s sci-fi infestation into Sanctuary through Infested Rifts, the Dark Ascension dungeon, a special Conqueror mode and themed rewards. Players can chase StarCraft-inspired cosmetics, avatar frames, weapon transmogs and the new Baneboil Legendary Gem, while the Phantom Market adds a Queen of Blades-style premium cosmetic angle.

The fun part is how unnatural the crossover feels in the best possible way. Diablo’s gothic demon-slaying and StarCraft’s alien horror should not fit cleanly together, which is exactly why this event has personality. For mobile players, this is a strong mid-May reason to return, especially if the limited modes feel more substantial than a simple skin drop.
