Retro hardware is having another nostalgic moment. Blaze Entertainment and Retro Games Ltd are preparing THEC64 Handheld and The Spectrum Handheld, two portable machines inspired by the classic Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum. The devices feature 4.3-inch displays, 25 built-in games each, clamshell-style designs, microSD support and USB peripheral options. These are not Android handhelds trying to run everything. They are focused retro devices built around specific 8-bit identities. That can actually be a strength.

In a market full of generic emulation boxes, licensed personality matters. The C64 and Spectrum still carry strong emotional weight for older players, and handheld versions make that nostalgia easier to use on a train, sofa or desk without setting up original hardware.
