Diablo Immortal x StarCraft opens Battle for Beyond today
Blizzard’s Diablo Immortal crossover with StarCraft runs from 13 May to 10 June, adding Infested Rifts, Dark Ascension, Conqueror changes and StarCraft-themed rewards.
Diablo Immortal has officially gone cosmic with Battle for Beyond, its Diablo x StarCraft crossover event. Running from 13 May to 10 June, the event brings StarCraft’s sci-fi infestation into Sanctuary with Infested Rifts, Dark Ascension, new rewards, special login bonuses and StarCraft-flavoured cosmetics. Blizzard is also using the event to push a new PvP structure through Conqueror, where faction shrines and role-based objectives give the mode more shape than simple fighting.
The best part is how odd the combination feels. Diablo’s demon-heavy gothic fantasy and StarCraft’s alien warfare should clash, but that is also why the event has personality. Mobile players get something more memorable than a generic skin sale: new enemies, new rewards, a new Legendary Gem and a reason to reinstall if they have been away from Sanctuary for a while.
