Redmi K90 Max keeps active-cooling gaming phones in the spotlight

The Redmi K90 Max remains one of the most interesting gaming-phone stories around the 14 May hardware cycle because it shows how serious Android gaming hardware is getting again. The phone launched in China with a built-in cooling fan, MediaTek Dimensity 9500, a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display at 165Hz, up to 16GB RAM, up to 1TB storage and a massive 8,550mAh battery with 100W charging. The most eyebrow-raising part is the combination of a physical cooling system with IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings.

Gaming phones used to be obvious RGB bricks, but the K90 Max tries to look more subtle while still chasing long-session performance. No global plan is confirmed yet, but if Xiaomi brings some version of this hardware outside China, it could put pressure on RedMagic, iQOO and Lenovo.
