Steam Deck OLED scalper pricing makes the handheld market look upside down
New reporting says Steam Deck OLED listings have hit extreme reseller prices, making competing handhelds suddenly look like better value.
The Steam Deck OLED remains one of the best handheld PCs, but today’s pricing conversation is getting ugly. New reporting points to some Steam Deck OLED listings reaching roughly double MSRP through reseller channels, with prices around the $1,100 mark. At that level, the value argument changes completely. A buyer willing to spend that kind of money is suddenly comparing the Deck against newer handhelds with stronger chips, higher-resolution screens, more storage or official SteamOS support from partners.
That does not mean the Steam Deck is bad. It means scarcity and reseller pricing can distort the market enough to make alternatives look much more rational. For players, the practical advice is simple: do not pay absurd scalper prices unless there is a very specific reason. Handheld PC competition is too strong now.
