Google's first-party Pixel Tag is scheduled for November 11 rather than launching alongside the Pixel 11 family this week. The small tracker costs $29 individually or $99 for a four-pack and connects directly with Google's Find Hub network. Bluetooth supports conventional nearby locating, while ultra-wideband provides more precise direction finding on compatible hardware. A built-in speaker helps users find objects nearby, and a physical control can also trigger a paired phone to ring.

The battery is replaceable and expected to last more than a year. Google's greatest advantage is scale: the Find Hub network can use nearby Android devices to help report the location of lost keys, luggage or bags even when the owner is far away. That same network requires strong anti-stalking protections, and Android includes unknown-tracker alerts intended to warn people if an unfamiliar device appears to be travelling with them.

Pixel Tag arrives years after Apple's AirTag, but Google's enormous Android install base gives the product the potential to become equally useful. November will show how consistently precision finding works across the wider Android ecosystem.
