Foldable phones get a clamshell-style gaming boost
Android 17’s foldable gaming controls can use the lower half of a folding phone as a touch controller.
Android 17 is making foldables more interesting for gaming by turning the lower half of the screen into a controller-style input area. That means your fancy foldable can pretend to be a clamshell handheld instead of just an expensive rectangle with a hinge. Somewhere, Nintendo DS nostalgia just raised an eyebrow.
