Qualcomm’s planned chipset increases could make upcoming Android handhelds and gaming phones noticeably more expensive. Snapdragon processors power devices from Retroid, AYN and several premium phone manufacturers, leaving hardware brands to absorb the extra cost or pass it to buyers. Portable gaming was already becoming expensive. The silicon has apparently reviewed the market and decided it was underpriced.
