Pokémon Champions Regulation Set M-C begins reshaping the competitive meta

Pokémon Champions players are entering the first weekend of Regulation Set M-C, which began September 9 and remains active through December 2 UTC. The ruleset is one of the game's largest competitive expansions yet, adding six newly legal Mega Evolutions: Mega Absol Z, Mega Salamence, Mega Garchomp Z, Mega Lucario Z, Mega Golisopod and Mega Baxcalibur.

The eligible Pokémon roster also expands substantially, creating new opportunities for teams built around established competitive choices such as Rillaboom alongside newer additions. Only one Mega Evolution can be activated per battle, so choosing which Pokémon receives that role becomes a major strategic decision. Pokémon Champions is particularly significant for mobile because iOS and Android players participate in the same evolving competitive environment as Nintendo Switch users.

Instead of being a simplified companion app, it has become a genuine Pokémon battling platform, giving smartphone users a direct route into ranked play and organised competition.
