Pokémon Champions players already have their first major objective under the new Regulation Set M-C. Global Challenge I is scheduled for September 25 through September 28, giving competitors only a short period to understand the newly expanded roster before serious online competition begins. The tournament will use the current regulation set, so Mega Absol Z, Mega Garchomp Z, Mega Lucario Z and the other newly eligible Mega Evolutions can immediately influence tournament strategy.

Championship Points will be tied to performance, making the event more than a casual weekend ladder. This matters especially on mobile because Pokémon Champions is helping lower the hardware barrier to participating in structured Pokémon competition. A player can practise and compete on a smartphone rather than needing to purchase a dedicated console solely for battling.

The September event should provide the first strong indication of which Regulation M-C strategies survive the transition from experimental ranked teams into tournament-level play.
