The middle of September is turning into one of the busiest mobile gaming periods of 2026. Call of Duty: Mobile and PUBG Mobile have major seasonal updates live, Pokémon Champions has introduced a new competitive regulation, and premium titles such as Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris have arrived alongside smaller releases. Next week brings Transformers: Eternal War and additional RPG launches, while Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis follows later in the month.
This density illustrates the central challenge of modern mobile publishing: new games do not merely compete against other new games. They compete against mature live services that effectively relaunch themselves every few weeks through seasons, collaborations and limited-time events. App-store visibility can generate an installation, but retention depends on convincing players to sacrifice time they are already investing elsewhere.
September's crowded schedule will therefore be a useful test of which publishers can turn launch attention into sustained communities.
