Motorola's Moto Watch Ultra enters its first full day of US availability after launching September 10. The premium Wear OS smartwatch uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 platform, a 1.5-inch OLED display and built-in GPS, while LTE support enables more independent operation away from a smartphone. Motorola's partnership with Polar is the most important differentiator.
Instead of developing sports-science algorithms from scratch, the company uses Polar technology for features covering sleep, recovery, activity and calorie analysis. That gives Motorola immediate credibility in an area where specialist wearable brands have accumulated years of expertise. Pricing around $349 puts the watch below some ultra-premium competitors while still positioning it above entry-level Wear OS devices.
The launch comes directly alongside Apple's Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 announcements, creating unusually intense competition for consumers considering a new smartwatch this month.
