PUBG Mobile 4.6 Midnight Hunters enters another busy weekend

PUBG Mobile Version 4.6 continues its Midnight Hunters season this weekend, using vampires, hunters and supernatural enemies to alter the familiar Battle Royale rhythm. The update layers themed areas, special powers and PvE encounters over established maps while also refreshing long-running systems such as Metro Royale and World of Wonder. That approach has become central to PUBG Mobile's longevity.

The underlying movement, weapons and survival loop remain recognisable, but temporary mechanics can make the same locations feel meaningfully different for returning players. It also gives Tencent room to experiment with ideas that would be too disruptive as permanent additions. Midnight Hunters arrives during an unusually intense period for mobile shooters, with Call of Duty: Mobile simultaneously pushing a large collaboration and Pixel Gun 2 still building its post-launch audience.

Competition is therefore not only about acquiring new users but winning the limited daily playing time of people who may already have several established shooters installed.
