EverLife2: Life Simulator joins the September 15 release rush

EverLife2: Life Simulator is scheduled for release on September 15, adding a very different genre to a date already occupied by major action and licensed games. Life simulators can work especially well on smartphones because their progression is naturally compatible with short sessions. Players can make a handful of decisions, advance a virtual character's circumstances and return later without needing to relearn complex controls.

The genre also creates room for emergent storytelling, where the value comes less from a fixed narrative than from the sequence of jobs, relationships and events generated through play. EverLife2 will face the same visibility challenge confronting every smaller title launching alongside ARES and Transformers: Eternal War, but genre differentiation may work in its favour. Users interested in simulation are unlikely to view a tactical Transformers RPG as a direct substitute.

September's crowded schedule therefore does not necessarily mean every game competes for exactly the same audience.
