Genshin Impact 7.1 announcement sets September 23 update date

HoYoverse has confirmed that Genshin Impact Version 7.1, titled A Rekviem for the Underworld, will arrive September 23 across supported platforms including iOS and Android. The announcement, published September 12, gives mobile players another major content cycle only weeks after the latest regional expansion. Genshin's update cadence remains one of the defining examples of modern cross-platform live service: the same world, progression and account can follow players between phones, PCs and consoles.

That makes every substantial patch simultaneously a mobile release, rather than mobile receiving a reduced companion edition. The September 23 update also lands in a particularly crowded period for smartphone RPGs, with several new launches trying to attract players during the same month. Genshin's advantage is its enormous installed base and predictable update rhythm. Its challenge is maintaining enough novelty to persuade long-term players to keep downloading increasingly large content packages.
