Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed will arrive on iOS and Android on September 16, putting the mobile edition only two days away. The conversion brings the modern remake of Mickey's 2010 platform adventure to phones and tablets with touchscreen controls adapted specifically for mobile. The game's paint-and-thinner mechanic allows players to restore or erase parts of environments, giving the adventure a system-driven element beyond conventional platforming.

Epic Mickey is another useful test of the premium console-to-mobile market. Current phones have more than enough processing power for many games that once required dedicated hardware, but comfortable touchscreen control and consumer willingness to purchase complete games remain harder problems. A strong adaptation can make a substantial catalogue title commercially viable again without designing a free-to-play economy around it.
