Order Automatica brings compact tactical roguelite battles to phones

Independent developer New Beings has released Order Automatica on iOS and Android, making the tactical roguelite one of the more interesting smaller mobile launches from the past several days. The game uses a compact 3×3 battlefield on which players position and manage demonic minions before watching their strategy play out.

Its auto-battler structure shifts emphasis away from rapid touchscreen input and toward team composition, positioning and synergistic abilities, making it naturally suited to short smartphone sessions. Roguelite progression provides changing conditions between runs rather than asking players to repeat an identical tactical puzzle.

The release also demonstrates how mobile continues to offer a viable route for solo developers whose games do not require the enormous content pipelines associated with large free-to-play RPGs. Order Automatica has considerably less marketing visibility than this week's licensed blockbusters, but its focused design gives it an opportunity to find a dedicated strategy audience through word of mouth and storefront discovery.
