iOS 27 enters its first full day in users' hands

Apple's iOS 27 is now in its first full day of public availability after beginning its global rollout on September 14. The update supports iPhone 11 and newer models, while its most demanding Apple Intelligence functionality requires more recent hardware. The visual interface receives additional control over Apple's Liquid Glass design, including adjustable opacity, redesigned icons, extra-large widgets and new Lock Screen options.

Apple has also separated volume controls for different system sounds such as alarms, timers and alerts. The biggest change is Siri AI, which launches initially as a beta on eligible English-language devices. Apple is trying to move Siri beyond simple commands toward contextual conversations and multi-step assistance. Because operating-system updates reach an enormous installed base quickly, iOS 27 will immediately influence how developers design applications and interfaces.

The first week will also reveal the usual practical issues: battery behaviour, app compatibility and whether Apple's new AI functions are dependable outside controlled demonstrations.
